The only logical conclusion is that the high school teacher is either an atheist or perhaps a practising Satanist. Whatever the reason -- the computer science teacher - -whose name has not been revealed -- is the one who needs to be disciplined -- like in TERMINATION of their employment.
I unfortunately got stuck with the teacher who wrote up the student for saying "bless you" and she yelled at me for saying it to another student.
Stop the madness and political "correctness" that is taking away free speech. Come on, it's America where even President Obama (whom I completely dislike as a President) ends political speeches with "God bless the United States of America".
I DO hope that this snowballs on the internet and that millions of people get involved in protesting the actions of Dyer County High School.
Why would ANYONE want to support a High School that allows a student to be disciplined for saying the words BLESS YOU when someone sneezes? That is not only UN-Christian but UN-religious. All religions understand the meaning of the words BLESS YOU and all religions are supportive of those terms.
So sad that today it's "bless you" that is banned from free speech in your classroom. Not too far away from "God" being banned from free speech in your classroom. Unless you are saying the "god" of another religion, because I'm sure you wouldn't offend our foreign friends that are on American soil, they may cut your head off.
I live in Texas and have heard about the suspension of the young lady for saying "Bless You" to a fellow student who sneezed. She was told there would be "No Godly talk in her classroom" and the young lady received in school suspension. What is the matter with you people?? You wonder WHY you have the problems in your schools that you have? It is BECAUSE YOU took God out of it! ANY school that upholds this teacher's policy and goes this far to be POLITICALLY correct should just shut their doors!! IF YOU WERE TO GO BACK TO THE WAY THINGS used TO be. Prayer in the mornings, the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag...MORALS taught in the classroom along side academics, you would quickly find a MAJOR turn around in the behavior of your students and you would see a VAST improvement. SHAME ON YOU for treating this young lady as if she did something wrong!
As a past student, the school was a great place to be. I (a person who actually knows the staff) feel that there was a lot more to the 'bless you' story than most knew. Such a silly story should not affect a school with high academic standing. A good school is a good thing.
